Eleven players form a soccer team. And eleven are the municipalities of Molise that have decided to team up to win the most difficult match against the opponent considered “historic” in these parts: depopulation. Molise, in fact, especially in the last twenty years, passively attends the increasingly frequent departures of its inhabitants, who leave the smallest region of Italy in search of fortune in other areas of the boot, thus causing enormous demographic damage to their land from.
Thus the mayors of San Felice del Molise, Montecilfone, Montefalcone nel Sannio, Civitacampomarano, Guardialfiera, Mafalda, Montemitro, Palata, Roccavivara (in the photo above) and Acquaviva Collecroce, led by the first citizen of Castelmauro Angelo Sticca, sat around a table to give life to a project that aims to assemble the agricultural, gastronomic, artistic and cultural resources of these countries, in order to stimulate local growth no longer individually not in a unified way. Which up until yesterday never happened because Molise is in a sense hostage to the lack of cooperation between the various urban centers that make it up, generating a stagnation of development not only economic but also tourist.

The administrative project is called Ci si muove, an exhortation that wants to go beyond the “yet it moves”: the goal is to involve all the identities that distinguish the villages belonging to this social re-launching plan, bringing home many young people who have emigrated elsewhere to grow the region in which they were born and attract the attention of tourists to a wonderful but unfairly abandoned land. The game has just begun and the opponent is tough. But, if in the field “we move” all together, no victory is impossible.
