In the valleys of Racines, winter sports enthusiasts will find a wealth of offerings: skiing, cross-country skiing, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing and sledding await. Ski enthusiasts can try their hand at the Racines-Giovo ski area, accessible by eight modern lifts. With 28 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes, beginners can learn the basics of skiing with the assistance of experienced instructors, while advanced skiers can enjoy unforgettable descents in the fantastic winter landscape.
For those who prefer to immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature away from the hectic pace of the slopes, the area offers splendid ski mountaineering tours. Here you can reach peaks with breathtaking views, experiencing the unique thrill of descents on fresh snow, even with the help of experienced guides.
Cross-country skiing and nature walks
Ratschings is also a paradise for cross-country skiers, with more than 50 km of trails that are always snow-covered and in perfect condition. These trails run between the valleys of Ridanna and Racines, suitable for both classic and skating. The high-altitude loop trail on Monte Piatto in the Passo Giovo area offers extraordinary views, while Val Ridanna boasts the largest network of trails in the area, with 15 km of trails to explore.
If you simply want to relax, however, you can opt for a winter hike, admiring the reflection of the sun on the ice crystals and breathing in the crisp frozen mountain air. The area offers a wide selection of hiking trails with various levels of difficulty, perfect for any nature lover. And after a good hike, you will have the opportunity to toboggan down one of the five available slopes, which wind for about 2 km along which there are several cozy huts and inns where you can stop and refresh yourself.
