About this hotel

Gualdo del Re is a family business with a total area of about 40 hectares, 25 of which are cultivated in vineyards.

The vineyards are located on average hill, about 100m above sea level, on pebbly, clayey, low fertility soils that, together with the brightness and the particular microclimate, make the Suvereto territory an ecological niche with a strong vocation for wines of great structure.

The vine is bred in traditional forms, with Guyot and traditional spurred cordon with a very low charge of gems per ha.

The density of the plants is about 6,500 plants per hectare.

No irrigation practice is carried out, although the vineyards suffer a slight summer drought.

A total of about 100,000 thousand bottles are produced per year, distributed throughout Italy, but also in large part in European and non-European countries.

Different types of wine are produced, most of them in purity, all strictly linked to the denomination of origin of the territory: Eliseo Pinot Bianco, Valentina Vermentino; Shiny Aleatico Rosato, all IGT Costa Toscana, Eliseo Rosso, Federico Primo Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabraia Cabernet Franc and Senzansia Pinot nero all IGT Rosso Toscano, Gualdo del Re Sangiovese and I’Rennero Merlot DOCG Suvereto, Amansio IGT Costa Toscana Aleatico Passito.

Extra virgin olive oil is also produced using the typical varieties present in the area.

To better enjoy our products since 2005, the Gualdo del Re Farmhouse has been created, which has a restaurant open also to the external public and 9 apartments.

The restaurant, located near the winery, is a space with large windows that overlook a small garden where, in summer, other tables are arranged.

The cuisine is typically Tuscan with a touch of innovation thanks to the creativity of our chefs.

The products are strictly local or at least Tuscan. The menu, which includes dishes of both meat and fish, in season, is enhanced by a blackboard with the proposals of the day.

The apartments, located about 800 meters from the cellar, are surrounded by greenery.

6 two-room apartments and 3 three-room apartments furnished in a refined Tuscan style.

The kitchens all have 4 burners, a fridge, a microwave, a Lavazza coffee machine and the necessary equipment to prepare complete meals.

The bathrooms, all with showers, are in travertine.

To complete the relaxation of our guests a swimming pool with children’s pool, playground, soccer field, parking with shade, air conditioning/heating, free wifi and Sky TV.
