Between Tuscany and Liguria on the Italian Riviera lays the Lunigiana, an area which owes ist name to the ancient roman colony Luni, a city built in 177 AD. it stretches from the Ligurian sea and the river Magra to the beautiful hills of Tuscany.

In this lovely surroundings can be found numerous little villages, ancient cities, old castles and palaces, amongst wich the famous castle of Malaspina in Fosdinovo. Here, on these green hills, which mark the beginning of the Apennine Mountins, the Hotel La Castellana is located.

Once a Villa of the 18th century, now renovated and enlarged, with an exceptional view over the lowlands of Luni and Sarzana, to the sea. La Castellana is embedded into a fantastic environment. Surrounded by vineyards, where an excellent Vermentino is made, and old olive-tree plantages, the source for particulary valuable oil.

All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, LCD television, mini fridge, safe and free internet access.
