The village is situated on an ancient fortified village of the Bronze Age. The center is characterized by the so-called "Cortazze" or "courtyards", a series of passages and streets often situated on the line of the maximum slope to facilitate waters streaming. Walking you can admire paintings and frescoes, the beautiful monolithic fountain of 1888 and the shrine is dedicated to the Virgin. The church of Carano, dedicated to St Nicholas of Bari, dates back to 1150.
Leaving the village, in the direction of Cavalese, in the wall on the left you will note the "fato lano dela fame" rock in remembrance of the famine of 1570. To visit the ethnographic museum Begna House and the ancient source of Ceva, with a water sulphate-calcareous-magnesium effective against rheumatic diseases and skin. Between the walks more spectacular near the village, the path of the Waterfalls.
A few kilometers from Carano is located the Lavazé Pass, a destination for wonderful excursions on foot or with the snow rackets and meeting point between the cross-country skiing and alpine skiing. It is close to Carano even the Alpe di Pampeago, access door to the Ski Center Latemar.
