Church of St. John the Baptist at Arrone

The Church of St. John the Baptist is undoubtedly one of the most important monuments in Arrone Castle. Built in Gothic style in the 12th and 14th centuries, this church stands as an imposing structure that dominates the surrounding landscape.

The interior of the Church of St. John the Baptist has a single nave, with a wooden truss roof with three trusses. This architectural solution gives the room an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, ideal for moments of prayer and reflection.

The pentagonal apse of the Church of St. John the Baptist has a cross vault reinforced by ribs resting on corbels.

Other features of the interior of the Church of St. John the Baptist include a stone seat that goes around the church, ideal for the moment of meditation and prayer. In addition, the still-preserved terracotta flooring gives the room a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The Church of St. John the Baptist is therefore a must-see for all those who visit the Castle of Arrone, offering a space of peace and spirituality within a fascinating historical environment.
