(Prop. of the Pontifical Greek College of St Anastasius since 1931). According to the chronicles of Gregory the Great, St Anatolia was martyred in 249 A.D. near the town of Tora. Pagan tombs have been found in the vicinity of the church.
The feast in honour of the Saint takes place on the second Sunday of July with great demonstrations of faith preceded by a novena. The feast reaches its climax on Saturday afternoon when, at Vespers, after the Eucharistic celebration, a solemn procession moves from the village to the sanctuary beyond the lake.
