The Christian and Cathedral Treasure museum of Cividale del Friuli preserves the most representative historic-artistic testimonies of medieval sculpture, especially of Longobard age. Following the exhibition of the museum, you Può admire a selection consisting of considerable heritage of works of art and liturgical furnishings, coming from the Cathedral and other churches in the diocesan territory. The exhibition of the museum is articulated in two sections:
- Longobard Heritage. The two mostù famous monuments of Lombard art: the Altar of Ratchis (737-744) in Carso stone and the octagonal baptistery of Callisto (VIII century), in white limestone;
- Cathedral Treasure. There are exposed jewelry, liturgical furnishings, paintings, but also brings together the heritage liturgical textile: are exposed plants, tunicelle, chasubles, mitrie vannodall that medieval era up to the Baroque one.
