The Diocesan Eparchy Museum of Lungro, which opened on November 1, 2015, is an important center for enhancing the religious and cultural history of the Greek-Albanian community of Calabria. Located in the heart of Lungro, the museum holds a rich collection of sacred vestments belonging to the bishops who have succeeded each other in the Eparchy since its establishment in 1919. Each piece on display tells a story, reflecting the liturgical and artistic traditions that characterize local spirituality.
In addition to sacred vestments, the museum serves as a place of encounter and insight, where visitors can explore objects of worship, manuscripts, icons and works of art that testify to the community’s rich cultural heritage. The carefully curated arrangement of the objects provides an immersive experience that invites reflection on the faith and history of a unique area. Through events, temporary exhibitions and educational activities, the Eparchy Diocesan Museum of Lungro serves as a point of reference for the promotion of culture and religious tradition, helping to keep the community’s roots alive.
