About 8 km from Floresta, Contrada Giuffré offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in the unspoiled nature of the Nebrodi Mountains, thanks to a nice walk of about 7 km. Beyond the great scrub of trees called Macchia Catana we arrive at Fichera Valley, which is always dry during the summer. In winter, however, a stream runs through it down to the valley. On the riverbed there are large stones that allow you to make the crossing and avoid getting wet. Continuing for about one kilometer, you reach Portella Grassetta, where there is a large drinking trough, at the end of the Maple Pass. The trail runs partly along the Flascio up to the Passo Tre Nasche. Continuing along the path in the middle of ancient oaks you get to a large maple, where the walk ends. Still following the path, however, you can reach the Cima Forestale Zarbata (about 4 km), going down to the Case del Fascio and the SS 120 of Etna and the Madonie.
