The complex of the Old Franciscan Convent, located near the cemetery in the town of Labro, is a place rich in history and spirituality. Inside the complex is the Church of Our Lady of the Snows, formerly connected to the cemetery by the old spring road, which has now become the provincial road to Leonessa.
The church, which dates back to the 15th century, has a simple but charming facade, ending in a triangular tympanum. In the center, a rose window without internal subdivisions fits elegantly into the structure, while the beautiful stone portal adds an additional touch of refinement. Currently, the building’s masonry apparatus is in excellent condition.
In addition to its historical and artistic importance, the Franciscan Convent of Labro is experiencing a new phase of its existence thanks to a restoration project. The goal is to transform it into a multipurpose center, mainly dedicated to hosting residential educational and cultural activities. This involvement in the activities of the area aims to create synergies with the accommodation and tourist offers present in the medieval village of Labro.
