Martirano Spinelli Renaissance Palace

The Martirano Spinelli Renaissance Palace, located in Aieta, is a magnificent and rare example of Renaissance architecture, set in the oldest part of the town’s historic center. Built in the 16th century by the Cosentino marquises, this palace is now considered the greatest example of Renaissance architecture in Calabria.

Its structure is characterized by an imposing Renaissance-style loggia, which stands out for the elegance of its lines and attention to detail. This loggia not only offers a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape, but also serves as a space for socializing and meeting, typical of the period. On the second floor, well-preserved frescoes tell stories and scenes reflecting the culture and values of the period, making the palace not only a place of residence, but also a valuable historical and artistic record.

After its construction, the palace passed into the hands of the Spinelli family, which took care of its maintenance and enhancement. Today, the Martirano-Spinelli Palace is a symbol of Aieta’s rich cultural history and an important landmark for lovers of art and architecture, attracting visitors who wish to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the Calabrian Renaissance.
