The Antiquarium sortinese medieval is hosted at the former convent of the Carmelite Fathers of Santa Teresa. The museum path that extends to the right of a corridor, where you follow each other 5 rooms which are all interconnected. It starts from the Sicilian prehistory to arrive to the culture of Pantalica Sicula. Continues with the Byzantine Pantalica and villages in the rocks of the territory. You trace a idea on the medieval economy, through the exhibition of artifacts. Then it goes to the urbanisation of Costa Sortino, Ksuthia was born, the ancient Sortino. Then the tragic earthquake of 1693 ago permanently abandon the ingrottati. Thus was born the Sortino baroque.
