Laux Lake

Lake Laux is a spectacular nature destination located in Piedmont, in the province of Turin. This enchanting mountain lake is located at an altitude of about 1,600 meters in the municipality of Usseaux, in the heart of the Cottian Alps. Surrounded by lush forests, green pastures and imposing peaks, Lake Laux offers a serene and relaxing atmosphere with breathtaking views and rich biodiversity.

Features
Laux Lake covers an area of about 30 hectares and is fed mainly by underground springs and snow melt in spring. The lake has an irregular shape, with a jagged perimeter that offers striking and picturesque views. Its waters are cool and crystal clear, providing a natural habitat for various species of fish and aquatic fauna.

Flora and Fauna
The area surrounding Lake Laux is famous for its rich flora and fauna. The shores of the lake are carpeted with a wide variety of plants and flower essences typical of the Alpine region, including firs, larches, rhododendrons, and gentians. In addition, it is possible to spot numerous wild animals such as deer, roe deer, marmots, squirrels and foxes, as well as numerous species of birds, mainly waterfowl.

Activities and Excursions
Lake Laux is an excellent base for hiking or mountain biking and discovering the many trails in the surrounding area. Fishing is also a viable activity in the lake due to the presence of several fish species including trout, perch and pike. During the winter months, the Laux area becomes an ideal destination for winter sports enthusiasts, offering several trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and other outdoor activities.
