Farmhouse Le Lucciole

The Farmhouse Le Lucciole is a wonderful and welcoming facility where you can enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience, surrounded by unspoiled nature near Bertinoro. It boasts a fully fenced private forest of 66,000 square meters with 24 trails for more than 9 km of walks, including some trails that require technical clothing.

The forest contains many wild animal species such as wolves, foxes, badgers, roe deer, wild boar, martens, squirrels, 39 types of birds, and is also home to one of the oldest cypress trees in Romagna more than 30 meters tall.
Nature lovers who want to contribute to the care and conservation of the environment can adopt a tree from the farm, which will undertake to plant it throughout the year. In addition, for those who want to learn about the small world of bees, the farmhouse organizes beekeeping workshops.

Agriturismo Le Lucciole is famous for its extraordinary firefly display during the months of May and June. Late in the evening, when the lights are turned off, the entire area is brightened by the presence of these nocturnal creatures.

The Rooms
Located among the hills of Bertinoro, Agriturismo Le Lucciole has 5 rooms furnished in a rustic and functional way, recalling the characteristics of the ancient farms: exposed brick or stone, wooden beams and panelling, and terracotta floors. The large stone walls, typical of a Romagna farmhouse, thus make the days cool in summer and warm in winter. They are available year-round by reservation only.

The trattoria
The kitchen uses exclusively home-grown products from the organic farm and farms located in the surrounding area. At Agriturismo Le Lucciole, the dishes served are all homemade and bring back the most authentic tradition of Romagna’s peasant cuisine. The meat is raised in the wild without the administration of any feed, and the pasta is made from ancient grains daily.

For the winter period, the farmhouse is open daily for lunch and dinner only with reservations of at least 2 days.
In spring, summer and fall it is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 2 p.m., other days only by reservation of at least 2 days.

Wines, beers, honeys, hazelnut spreads, cold meats and cheeses, essential oils from the farm’s plants, sweets and more are available in the small farm store.

Other interesting facts.
The farmhouse farm is home to numerous animals including: Dino the Pony, the donkeys Romeo and Juliet with their daughter Lilli, the rooster and chickens of the Romagnola breed, a native breed in danger of extinction, and many others.
The owners’ love of animals is passed on to anyone who visits the farm through horseback rides, for the older ones, while the younger ones are taken riding the wonderful ponies or donkeys.

In one of the simplest paths in the woods, Le Lucciole has created the Holiday Village of Gnomes. It is a simple path enriched with statues and little houses and many signs explaining nature to the little ones. At night the little light pollution allows a view of the sky and stars unobtainable so close to the cities.”
