In the province of Udine lies the picturesque seaside village of Marano Lagunare, small but with an intense history that has its roots in Roman civilisation, when it was part of the city of Aquileia. For four long centuries the village was under the dominion of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, which left many traces, both architectural and linguistic, in the Friulian village. Well, this is the context that frames the Trattoria alla Laguna Vedova Raddi.
Trattoria
Trattoria alla Laguna Vedova Raddi enjoys an enviable position in front of the small harbour near Pescaria Vecia.
Founded in 1938 and run for three generations by the Raddi family, as of 1 June 2020 the management will change with the arrival of Flavio Biasoni, who has worked there for 20 years.
An all-female team made up of young collaborators and a new layout of the kitchen and dining room, to maintain the tradition that has always distinguished the history of the Trattoria, rich in countless awards obtained in over 80 years of activity. The restaurant can accommodate 50 people inside and the same number on the terrace in front with a view of the lagoon.
Quality and courtesy are the basis of the success of this restaurant, which prepares exclusively fresh fish dishes from the lagoon and the Adriatic Sea.
Cuisine and wines
The kitchen offers a wide choice of starters such as raw fish (sea bream tartare, scampi, dondoli), steamed spider crab, canoce, shellfish au gratin (mussels, scallops, scallops, fasolari).
First courses include homemade orecchiette with prawns and seasonal vegetables, linguine with scampi or canoce, and risotto alla marinara.
Main courses include mixed fried fish, molecules, fish caught daily, scampi, prawns and grilled squid.
The wine list has a prevalence of Friulian labels alongside champagne and Franciacorta for those who love bubbles.
